Get Ready for Summer! Check Out Museum Kids Summer Workshops
It's not too early to start thinking about signing your children up for summer workshops. This year, explore the world without leaving Kansas City. The Museum will take you on a whirlwind ride around six continents, playing games, creating arts and crafts and tasting delightful treats from several ethnic cultures. This program is produced in collaboration with the Kansas City Ethnic Enrichment Commission.

Enjoy a full list of summer activities with the Kansas City Museum. In June, July and August, take a Science or History Walk of beautiful Cliff Drive and Historic Northeast Kansas City. Join us on a nice Friday evening in July and listen to music from some great local musicians during our Fridays in July concert series. Take a special trolley tour of Kansas City June 19th as we explore lumber baron Robert A. Long’s civic contributions to Kansas City.

Learn about Kansas City Museum’s historic hat collection with our May Community Curator, Ann Brownfield, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 at Union Station. The Hat collection was recently featured in Kansas City Museum’s Exhibit in Print: Natural History on the Head: Contemporary Artists, Historical Fashion.

Celebrate the 100 year anniversary of a Kansas City icon at Founders Day
In May 1940, the doors of Corinthian Hall were opened, welcoming guests to the Kansas City Museum. Celebrate 70 years of the Kansas City Museum and the 100th anniversary of Corinthian Hall at Founders Day Sunday, May 2nd at the Museum. Play games and create arts and crafts centered on the anniversary, and get a tasty treat from local company Boulevard Bakery and Pastries. Also, for the history buff, the Museum is releasing the 3rd edition of the Museum’s definitive book on Corinthian Hall: Corinthian Hall: An American Palace.

Discover how photography and archival materials help historians understand people, styles and technologies that shape our history and culture with historic preservationist Elizabeth Rosin Tuesday, April 27 at Union Station. Rosin will discuss the archival photographs of Corinthian Hall and explore how these photos play an important role in informing us about the construction and design of the Beaux Arts mansion.

Discover the history of AIDS Walk in Kansas City with the release of our latest Exhibit in Print, What We Did For Love: AIDS Walk T-Shirt Collection. The book explores grassroots healthcare advocacy, locally and nationally, through the Walks commemorative T-shirts, recently donated to the Museum.

The Collective is a group of Latino writers living and working in the Kansas City metropolitan area, helping each other hone and polish their works for publication. The Collective reads and performs at 6 p.m. April 17th in the Museum's StoryTarium.
