Join us for our Free Family Fun Day 12-4 p.m.
As the restoration of the Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall gets underway, the animal specimens in its Natural History Halls will be transferred to other public museums in the region.
Sunday, May 4, from 12-4 p.m., you're invited to join us for a final look at this historic exhibit of animals and natural habitats at the Museum's Free Family Fun Day. The event will celebrate the great tradition of the Natural History Halls and the great animal exhibits that have long been part of the Museum's educational programming.
The taxidermy collection has been part of the natural science programming at the Museum for more than 60 years. The collection was established by former Board Trustee, Arthur Popham, Jr., to encourage conservation of species and habitats.
More Fun With Animals
At the May Free Family Fun Day, you'll enjoy other animal-themed activities, including "Animals of All Shapes and Sizes" - where you’ll learn why animals have different shapes and colors to adapt to their environments.
You can test your knowledge with "Batty Trivia," and learn about these flying creatures that come out at night. Are they really blind? Do they really get stuck in your hair? You'll know for sure when you join us for Family Fun Day.
