Join us for a picnic and hard hat tour July 20
Friends of the Kansas City Museum are planning an exciting Sunday afternoon this Sunday afternoon, July 20, on the grounds of that historic mansion. This year’s picnic will feature fresh-grilled hot dogs and live music under a big, shady tent. Outside on the grass, enjoy 1900’s lawn games like croquet and badminton, and win a prize after decorating a hat in the truly grand style of the turn of the 20th century in Loula’s Fabulous Hat Competition (BYOH – Bring Your Own Hat). Make your reservations now for our annual picnic on the lawn of the Kansas City Museum on Sunday, July 20, from noon-4 p.m. Admission is free, but we'd like to know how many history buffs plan to attend. Please register here. Members of Friends of the Kansas City Museum will be given exclusive hard hat tours of the restoration of Corinthian Hall, and all guests will be able to take in a new Storytarium presentation on the history of Kansas City. The piece is from the perspective of the R.A. Long family and will run every 30 minutes. Hard hat tours of Corinthian Hall (3218 Gladstone) are available by appointment, or you can schedule one when you attend the Friends’ annual picnic. It’s your chance to get involved in preserving Kansas City. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a fashionable Sunday at the Grand Mansion on the Boulevard! |
