Visitor Center
The Visitor Center remains open on the Museum grounds during renovation activities. Hours of operation are as follows:Tues-Sat 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sunday Noon to 4:30 p.m.
The Visitor Center is located behind the former Natural History Halls just north of the Museum. During the restoration, the entrance to the museum ground is from the north gate, which leads directly to the free-standing building that houses the Visitor Center.
Inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of books, collectibles and historical guides about the Kansas City Museum and city history. An impressive range of books for adults and children are available for purchase, along with official museum apparel and souvenirs.
During our Free Family Fun Days each month, children enjoy hands-on craft activities here in the Visitor Center. Museum staff and volunteers lead young people through fun activities that relate to the Long family traditions or the collections of the Kansas City Museum. Currently, “Loula Long Combs: Fashion Paper Doll Collection” is on sale at the Museum visitor center.
